December 16, 2025 County Board Recap

𝐓𝐡𝐞 Fond du Lac 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝 voted last night to obtain requests for proposals for jail and/or justice centers at either Scott Rd near the new county garage or downtown near the existing justice facilities. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 that limited the site to Scott rd. It was great to see a large turnout for the meeting. Some excellent discussion among the supervisors- much of it 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭.  Click HERE to read the original Resolution

Mary B Hayes – District 24 County Board Supervisor

Supervisor Hayes presented financial information on how FDL County compares to our neighboring counties. She also showed where FDL County stands in the state on debt levels.  She had a printed handout that was given to Supervisors. Angela Luehring – District #25 County Board Supervisor

This is Supervisor Luehring’s opening comments. 

Supervisor Luehring initially amended the resolution by striking the two whereas clauses and to include two sites for a potential jail facilty and send both sites out for Phase 1 Schematic Design RFPs.  You can see the original resolution as a pdf by clicking on the button below. An amendment to the amendment came later and that added the Justice Center to the RFP for the Scott Rd (next to the Hwy Garage) site.

 
 

Tiffany Brault – District #20 County Board Supervisor

This is Supervisor Brault’s exchange with the project consultant about how communication is suppose to happen with the public. 

Supervisor Brault asked about the status of the communications plan that was talked about at the February 2025 County Board meeting. The response from Kurt Berner, the project consultant was “that communication plan takes place before you go to borrow for a project.” The video is Supervisor Brault’s response to that statement.
